A6M5 Zero Type 52a 1/48
Eduard 84216 A6M5 Zero Type 52a 1/48 is a plastic kit of the Japanese carrier-based fighter. Weekend edition with decals for four aircraft. Paints and glue required for assembly are not included.
The Mitsubishi A6M Zero became the symbol of Japanese naval aviation in the Second World War. The A6M5 Type 52 introduced a shortened wing with rounded tips and individual exhaust stacks, while the Type 52a added thicker wing skinning and belt-fed cannon in place of drum magazines.
This 1/48 Eduard kit comes as a Weekend edition, with plastic parts and decals but no photo-etch or masks. The decals cover four aircraft: Lt. Toshihide Kihara's machine of the Tsukuba Kōkūtai (Japan, February 1945), two aircraft of the 343rd Kōkūtai on Guam (June 1944) and an aircraft of Hikōtai 165, 653rd Kōkūtai, at Ōita (September 1944).
The Weekend edition suits modellers who want to build a Zero straight from the box, or serves as a base for their own detailing. The dark green camouflage with bold hinomaru leaves room for depicting worn paintwork.
Paints and glue required for assembly are not included.
Nationality: Japan. Period: World War II.
