StuH 42 (Sturmhaubitze 42) Ausf. G was a self-propelled howitzer on a StuG III tank chassis, armed with a 105mm howitzer and designed to support infantry. Early production of the Ausf. G began production in 1942 and was deployed primarily on the Eastern Front. The machines of this version had characteristic details such as the classic fenders and the absence of some later modifications.
