1/72 Focke-Wulf FW 190D-9 Cottbus ( Early production) - IBG
IBG 1/72 Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 Cottbus is a plastic model of early production series "Dory" in 1/72 scale. It offers a detailed rendition of the German fighter aircraft that was deployed at the end of WWII.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 fighter, nicknamed "Dora", was introduced in 1944 as a more powerful variant of the Fw 190 with a liquid-cooled Junkers Jumo 213A engine. With a lengthened fuselage and new nose, it gained a distinctly different appearance and improved flight characteristics. The early production series, built at the Cottbus factory, featured somedifferent details from the later versions, particularly in the design of the cowls and exhausts.
The Fw 190D-9 was primarily deployed to defend the Reich against Allied bombers and escort fighters. Despite its relatively small numbers, it represented one of the best German fighter aircraft of the late war and became a serious challenger to the modern Allied types.
The 1/72 scale IBG kit offers the opportunity to build a machine from the early production run at Cottbus. Fine surface details, authentic shapes and high quality decals make it possible to create a faithful miniature of this important aircraft. The model is suitable for both solo display and dioramas reflecting the air battles over Europe in 1944-1945.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
