1/72 Firebee KDA-1
Plus Model 1/72 Firebee KDA-1 is a plastic kit of the first-generation American target drone. The box contains two drones, pylons for the Hercules, Neptune and Invader and decals for four marking options.
The first-generation Ryan Firebee answered a 1948 US Air Force request, and the XQ-2 prototype flew in early 1951. The Air Force adopted the type as the Q-2A, the Navy as the KDA-1 with a Fairchild J44 engine; the two versions differ in the shape of the circular nose intake. The Firebee was air-launched from specially modified carrier aircraft, the A-26 Invader being the first used for the purpose.
This Aero Line kit from Plus Model includes two drones and pylons for the C-130 Hercules, P2V Neptune and A/B-26 Invader carrier aircraft. The decals offer four options; the box art shows an orange drone with a shark mouth and the name I Go Pogo.
Two drones and the pylons let you complete a 1/72 launch aircraft, or the drones can be displayed on their own. Paints and glues required for assembly are not included.
