1/72 E14Y1 Model 11 Early
Brand: Hobby 2000

The Yokosuka E14Y1, Allied code name "Glen", was a small deck reconnaissance seaplane developed for the Japanese Imperial Navy. Its main task was to conduct long-range reconnaissance in areas beyond the range of conventional naval aircraft. Machines of this type were transported in disassembled condition in the hangars of large I-15 class submarines and were launched by catapult.

An early version of the Model 11 Early entered service in 1941 and participated in reconnaissance flights over Australian ports or the coast of the United States, among other missions. The E14Y1 became the only aircraft to carry out a bombing attack on continental U.S. soil during World War II, dropping incendiary bombs on Oregon forests in September 1942.

The 1/72nd scale Hobby 2000 kit features detailed plastic parts with fine surface engraving and decals for authentic markings of early versions. This model is suitable for modelers interested in naval aviation and unusual WWII designs.

The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
