The Pinta was one of three ships that set sail in 1492 under the command of Christopher Columbus on a groundbreaking voyage across the Atlantic Ocean. Together with the Santa María and Niña, she made history as a participant in the discovery of the New World.
The Pinta was a fast and agile caravel that proved particularly adept at exploratory voyages. It was from her deck that the coastline of the newly discovered country was first sighted. Thanks to her seaworthiness, she played an important role throughout the expedition and became a symbol of the era of overseas discovery.
