The Tiger I is one of the most famous German tanks of World War II. It was first deployed in 1942 on the Eastern Front, where it was introduced in the so-called “Initial” version. These early models differed from later production runs in several ways, such as a different type of tracks, minor differences in the turret, and a different exhaust design. The first Tiger I tanks saw combat during operations near Leningrad and later in Tunisia, where they quickly earned a reputation as nearly invincible machines thanks to a combination of heavy armor and the 88 mm KwK 36 cannon.
This 1/72 scale model from Border Model captures precisely this early version of the Tiger I. Despite the kit’s smaller scale, it features finely crafted details, a faithfully reproduced surface finish, and realistic proportions. This model is the ideal choice for modelers who want to add this iconic tank to their collection in its original form from its first combat deployments.
The package does not include the paints or adhesives needed for assembly.
