1/72 TBM-3W Guppy
Sword 1/72 TBM-3W Guppy (SW72135) is a plastic kit of the airborne early warning radar version of the carrier-based Avenger. The decals cover five operators of the type.
The aircraft
The TBM-3W “Guppy” was created after the Second World War by converting the Avenger torpedo bomber into a carrier-based early warning aircraft. The large radome under the fuselage and the auxiliary fins on the tailplane gave it an unmistakable silhouette. Besides the US Navy, the Guppy also flew with the naval air arms of other countries.

SW72135 is a Sword plastic kit in 1/72 scale. According to the manufacturer, it comes with a large decal sheet offering five marking options: US Navy, Japan, the Netherlands, Canada and France. This unusual post-war Avenger is a rewarding subject for naval aviation collections and for modellers looking for less common colour schemes.
