1/72 Supermarine Seafang F.Mk.32

The Supermarine Seafang was a British airborne fighter aircraft developed in the period shortly after World War II. It was built by Supermarine to Air Ministry requirements (specification N.5/45) and followed the famous Spitfire family of fighters and its successor the Spiteful. The Seafang thus represents one of the last developments in British piston fighters at a time when aviation was rapidly moving towards jet types. The British aviation historian Alfred Price described the related Spiteful as "too late a Spitfire", which also sums up well the nature of this entire development line.

For airborne service, the Seafang was conceived as a powerful fighter with the Rolls-Royce Griffon engine, one of the most powerful piston engines of its day. The combination of an upgraded airframe and powerful propulsion was intended to deliver high performance and good performance for carrier operations. It is the on-board designation and the "post-war transition" character that make the Seafang an interesting and less common item for the collection alongside the more familiar wartime types.

Included are splash masks for the cockpit overlay and the front shield.and decals for 3 camouflage schemes/decals. The finished model has approximate dimensions of 148mm span and 144mm length. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
