1/72 KTO Rosomak Medevac

The KTO Rosomak is one of the most famous modern armoured vehicles of the Polish Armed Forces. The abbreviation KTO stands for "Kołowy Transporter Opancerzony", i.e. wheeled armoured personnel carrier. The vehicle is based on the Finnish Patria AMV design, which was selected for Poland in the early 21st century and subsequently produced in Polish factories. The Rosomak has become an important part of the Polish army's modernisation and has appeared in a number of versions - from turreted combat transporters to command, reconnaissance, technical and medical versions.

The Medevac version, associated in the Polish environment with medical evacuation, is a specialised modification designed to transport the wounded from the deployment area. Compared to the combat variants, it is not as strikingly armed, but its importance in real operations is crucial: similar vehicles allow the protected movement of medical personnel and patients in environments where conventional ambulances do not provide sufficient ballistic protection. Rosomaks have also made a significant contribution to the Polish contingent in Afghanistan, where the value of modern wheeled armoured vehicles with good mobility and crew protection has been demonstrated.

The IBG 1:72 scale kit depicts a less common, but historically and modelologically interesting medical variant of the Rosomak. The compact scale allows the modern eight-wheeled armoured vehicle to be built in a space-saving form, while the typical shapes of the Patria AMV/Rosomak platform remain easily recognisable. The model fits into a collection of contemporary military equipment and as an addition to modern scenes with the Polish army. The package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
