1/72 Kaelble Z6R resin construction kit of german heavy tractor
Hauler Kaelble Z6R 1/72 is a resin plastic kit of a German heavy road tractor in Deutsche Reichsbahn service. The real Kaelble Z6R3A was delivered in 1937 for exceptionally heavy transport work and was usually operated with a Culemeyer road trailer. The box includes 20 resin parts, photo-etched parts, decals, and building and painting instructions. Cab interior parts and two styles of Kaelble door markings are also included.
Hauler Kaelble Z6R 1/72 covers a very unusual Deutsche Reichsbahn heavy road tractor in resin.
The original vehicle
The Kaelble Z6R3A was developed by Kaelble from 1936 as a specialised heavy tractor with all-wheel drive and output of up to 200 hp. Deutsche Reichsbahn took delivery of its vehicle in 1937 under fleet number 70071. Only a single example was built, intended for the movement of the heaviest loads by road, usually in combination with a Culemeyer road trailer. The engine was mounted between the front axle and the first rear axle, and the last axle was steerable.
Kit contents
The box contains 20 cleanly cast resin parts, a photo-etched fret, decals, and building and painting instructions. The main components are a separate chassis and a solid-cast body, plus a cab with separate roof and wheels with convincing tread. Interior detail includes the bench seat, control levers, steering column with wheel, and pedals, while the glazing is fitted from inside the cab.
Details and markings
Photo-etched and metal parts provide the DR emblem for the front, plus wipers, mirrors, ladder, steps, and grab handles. The decal sheet includes the registration markings and Kaelble door scripts in both early and later styles.
