Airfix 1/72 D-Day Fighters Gift Set is a gift set containing models of iconic Allied and German fighter aircraft from the Normandy landings in June 1944. The set contains five models with varying numbers of parts and is ideal for WWII aviation history buffs. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
Operation Overlord, also known as the Normandy landings, began on 6 June 1944 and marked a major turning point in World War II. Fighter aircraft played a key role in securing air supremacy, protecting invading forces and attacking enemy positions. Among the most famous Allied machines of this era were the Supermarine Spitfire, the North American P-51 Mustang and the Hawker Tempest, which clashed with the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 and Focke-Wulfy Fw 190.
