1/700 USS LEXINGTON CV-2 05/1942
Trumpeter 1/700 USS Lexington CV-2 05/1942 is a plastic kit of the American aircraft carrier. Clear F4F, SBD and TBD carrier aircraft, a waterline plate and a display stand are included. Paints and glue are not included.
USS Lexington CV-2 was converted from an unfinished battlecruiser and was one of the first large American aircraft carriers. She was sunk in the Battle of the Coral Sea in May 1942, and the kit depicts her in that final configuration. This is not the later Essex-class Lexington CV-16.
The kit includes upper and lower hull, a waterline plate, decks and a stand with a USS LEXINGTON name plate, allowing a full-hull or waterline build. Clear sprues carry the Wildcat, Dauntless and Devastator carrier aircraft.
The colour scheme and decals match the ship and her air group in spring 1942. Paints and glue required for assembly are not included.
