Trumpeter 1/700 HMS Calcutta depicts a C-class light cruiser converted before World War II into an anti-aircraft ship with four twin 4-inch mounts. During the war she escorted Mediterranean convoys and covered the evacuations from Norway, Dunkirk, Greece and Crete, and was sunk by aircraft on 1 June 1941 during the Crete evacuation.
The kit contains the hull, deck and superstructure, sprues with armament and fittings, a small photo-etched fret and Royal Navy flag decals. The slim hull makes a compact 1/700 subject for a Royal Navy collection. Paints and glue required for assembly are not included.
