1/48 Typhoon Mk. IB Gun Barrels Early
Hobby 2000 1/48 Typhoon Mk. IB Gun Barrels Early 3D-print is a 3D-printed accessory replacing the original gun barrels for the British Hawker Typhoon Mk. IB in 1:48 scale. The add-on adds increased detail and a more accurate barrel shape, including open barrel muzzles. Designed for more advanced modelers who want to increase the realism of the model.
Hawker Typhoon Mk. IB was a British single-engine fighter aircraft that became famous during World War II, especially as an attack machine for supporting ground troops. Originally designed as a high-speed fighter to fight the Luftwaffe, the Typhoon found its use primarily at low altitudes, where it excelled at attacking ground targets - armoured vehicles, rail transport, fortifications and other strategic objects. A key part of its armament was four 20mm Hispano Mk. II mounted in the wings, which provided devastating firepower against soft and lightly armoured targets. It was these barrels that constituted a distinctive element of the aircraft's exterior appearance, and their correct design greatly influences the overall impression of the model.
Hobby 2000's 3D printed add-on replaces the standard plastic gun barrel parts with more accurate and detailed replicas made using additive manufacturing technology. The advantage of 3D printing is the ability to capture fine details that are difficult to achieve in a conventional injection mould - for example, the exact shape of the barrel muzzle, internal rifling or thinner walls. The "Early" version corresponds to an early version of the barrel used on the first series of Typhoon Mk. Installation requires careful removal of the support structures from the press, possible regrinding and accurate fitting into the holes in the kit wing. The accessory is compatible with Typhoon Mk. IB in 1:48 scale from various manufacturers.
