1/48 Stearman PT-17 recommended for Revell
Yahu Model YMA4817 is a 1:48 scale set of color-printed etched dashboard parts for Stearman PT-17 Kaydet biplane trainer, designed for Revell kit. The set includes both front and rear instrument panels with instruments faithfully depicted to match the actual aircraft equipment. Package does not include plastic parts, paint or adhesives.
The Stearman PT-17 Kaydet was one of the most widely used primary trainer aircraft of the USAAC/USAAF during World War II. This single-engine, two-seat biplane with a tandem seating arrangement passed through the hands of the vast majority of US military pilots - it is estimated that over 90% of USAAF pilots received basic flight training in it. The machine was popular for its ruggedness, forgiving flight characteristics and aerobatic capability, making it ideal for teaching beginners. The instrumentation in both cockpits was deliberately simple and uncluttered so that both student and instructor could observe basic flight parameters without undue complexity.
The Yahu Model YMA4817 is a photo-etched set of color-printed 1:48 scale instrument panels designed specifically for Revell's kit. The kit covers both cockpits - front (student) and rear (instructor) - and faithfully reproduces the layout and appearance of the real instruments including altimeter, speedometer, tachometer, oil pressure gauge and more. Color printing directly on the brass etching ensures a realistic look to the dials and hands without the need to hand paint the instruments. This kit is designed for more advanced modelers who want to take the cockpit detail of their kit to the next level. The package does not include plastic parts, paint or glue.
