The Spitfire Mk.Vb was the RAF's most widely used fighter aircraft in 1941 and the backbone of Fighter Command. Compared to previous versions, it brought a more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin 45 engine of approximately 1,470 horsepower and armament combining two 20mm Hispano Mk.II guns with four 7.7mm Browning machine guns. The cockpit of this machine had undergone incremental modifications from the earlier Spitfires - the instrument panel of the early Mk.Vb variant reflected RAF standards in force at the start of the war and included basic flight instruments, engine indicators and pneumatic flap controls. It is the accurate execution of this detail that is crucial to the model's credibility.

Yahu Model YMA4803 offers a photo-etched instrument panel for an early version of the Mk.Vb Spitfire in 1:48 scale. The part is made of thin metal and pre-printed in colour, so that it faithfully reproduces the individual dials, instrument bezels and their placement matching the historical model. The JustStick technology allows for direct gluing into the cockpit without the need for manual refinishing - the part is ready to use right out of the box. The kit is designed for Airfix, Hasegawa and Tamiya 1:48 scale kits.
