1/48 P-51 B/C recommended for Tamyia / ICM

The North American P-51B and P-51C Mustang are groundbreaking versions of the famous American fighter aircraft that entered service during 1943 and profoundly influenced the course of the air war over Europe. In contrast to the later and more visually familiar P-51D with its drop-shaped cockpit overlay, the B and C versions had the original framed overlay, which, while limiting the pilot's view, was aerodynamically cleaner. It was these machines that first allowed American bombers to make deep bombing raids on targets in Germany with escorts throughout the flight - a tactical breakthrough that changed strategic bombing.

Yahu Models YMA4818 is a set of photo-etched dashboards designed for 1:48 scale P-51B/C models from ICM and Tamiya. Photoetch is a technique of producing very fine metal parts by chemical etching that can achieve a level of detail that is virtually unattainable for plastic kit parts - especially for instrument panels with their many tiny instruments, dials and controls. The parts are pre-coloured directly from the manufacturer, eliminating the need to hand paint individual instruments. JustStick technology allows direct bonding without prior surface preparation. The kit is form-fitted to specific ICM and Tamiya kits, so it fits without the need for modification.
