Hobby Boss 1/48 F-14D Super Tomcat is a plastic kit of a carrier-based fighter. The F-14D Super Tomcat was the final version of the Grumman F-14 carrier fighter, with General Electric F110 engines, APG-71 radar and upgraded avionics. Besides fleet defence it also flew strike missions as the “Bombcat” late in its career.
According to the manufacturer the kit has 490 parts; the Cybermodeler review lists photo-etched seat harnesses, rubber tyres, complete F110 engines and a positionable canopy, radome, slats, flaps and speed brakes. Stores include AIM-9L, AIM-7, AIM-54, GBU-31 JDAM and Mk.82 bombs, LANTIRN and TARPS pods and two tanks. Decals cover VF-213 from USS Carl Vinson and VF-101 from USS Enterprise in 2000. Paints and glue required for assembly are not included.
