The Boulton Paul Defiant was a British RAF two-seat fighter aircraft whose main armament was the Boulton Paul Type A four-barrel swivel turret gun system operated by a rear gunner - not the pilot's fixed guns as was common in fighters of the time. This unconventional design initially brought it success in night operations, where it was used as a night fighter, particularly in 1940-1942. The Mk.I version, powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin III engine, served with squadrons such as 264 and 141 Squadrons, while the Mk.II received the more powerful Merlin XX and a number of design modifications including a cambered cockpit canopy for better pilot visibility.

The Yahu Model YMA4823 is a photo-etched 1:48 scale instrument panel set designed specifically for the Airfix Boulton-Paul Defiant Mk.I kit. The parts are made from brass sheet metal with pre-printed instrument colour scheme, which faithfully replicates the actual cockpit fittings of British WWII era aircraft - including the typical black checkered dashboard surface, instrument dials and controls. JustStick technology means the parts are ready for immediate use without the need for separate painting. The kit is form-fitted to the specific Airfix kit, so it fits without complicated modifications.

The package does not contain glue or paint.
