The Caudron C.714 Cyclone was a French single-engine fighter aircraft developed in the late 1930s by designer Marcel Riffard for the Caudron-Renault company. The lightweight interceptor with a wooden structure and canvas covering was created in response to the French Air Force's demand for a fast and easy-to-produce machine. It was powered by a 14-cylinder, air-cooled Renault 12R engine with 500 hp, which gave the aircraft a top speed of over 500 km/h. Armament consisted of four 7.5 mm MAC 1934 machine guns. Despite the promising test results, only a small number of C.714s entered combat service - approximately 94 were completed in total. In combat, it was particularly useful in the hands of Polish exiled pilots associated with the GC I/145 group, who flew it during the Battle of France in June 1940. The aircraft was also deployed in Lithuania. The overall combat contribution was limited, yet the C.714 remains a symbol of Franco-Polish alliance and tenacious resistance in an unequal fight.
Yahu Models offers a photo-etched cockpit instrument panel in 1:48 scale for the RS Models Caudron C.714 kit. The part is made of nickel-plated brass with color-printed instrument dials and is ready for direct fitment thanks to JustStick technology - no complicated customization or modifications required. The accessory faithfully reproduces the look of the original dashboard and far surpasses the level of detail of the plastic part from the base kit.
