1/350 Aircraft Carrier Weser
Trumpeter 1/350 Aircraft Carrier Weser is a plastic kit of the never-completed German carrier. It contains over 560 parts, photo-etch, an anchor chain and carrier aircraft of four types. Paints and glue are not included.
Weser was the name given to the Admiral Hipper-class heavy cruiser Seydlitz when the Kriegsmarine began converting her into an aircraft carrier in 1942. Work was halted before the conversion was finished, so the model shows the planned form of a ship that was never completed.
According to the manufacturer the kit has over 560 parts; the hull is a one-piece moulding and the decks are detailed. Photo-etched frets provide railings and further details, and an anchor chain is included. The air group consists of Ar 195, Bf 109, Ju 87 and Fi 167 aircraft (five of each according to the instructions), with decals for both ship and aircraft.
The finished model is about 629 mm long according to the manufacturer and will appeal to modellers interested in unrealised Kriegsmarine projects. Paints and glue required for assembly are not included.
