1/35 Standard N industrial tractor mod. 1940/42

The Standard N tractor was a compact industrial machine that was used in a wide range of civilian and military applications during the Second World War and the period surrounding it. Thanks to its robustness and ease of operation, it was used at airports, in factories, warehouses and for various transport and handling tasks. It is precisely this versatility that makes it an interesting element for dioramas set in the rear — whether it be a bustling airport environment, an industrial site or a scene of civilian daily life during wartime.

The MiniArt 35466 kit in 1:35 scale depicts the tractor in a configuration corresponding to the years 1940–42. The manufacturer is known for its attention to detail, and this holds true here as well: the model features a finely crafted engine and chassis, realistically shaped wheels with tyres, and an overall faithful reproduction of the original. The kit includes photo-etched parts, which allow you to add fine details to the model that would be difficult to achieve with plastic parts alone — typically various metal plates, grilles or clips.

The 1:35 scale is the most common for dioramas featuring ground equipment, so the tractor can easily be combined with figures, vehicles or structures from various manufacturers. When painting, you can opt for either a clean, operational finish suitable for a factory or airport setting, or a more pronounced look with mud, oil and wear and tear, which will emphasise the machine’s working nature.
