1/35 Panzer IV Ausf.G Late

The Panzerkampfwagen IV was one of the most important German medium tanks of World War II and became the backbone of the Wehrmacht’s tank units. Originally developed as a support tank with a short 75mm KwK 37 cannon, it was gradually modernized during the war to counter increasingly powerful Allied armored vehicles.

The Ausf.G version, produced from March 1942, brought a significant upgrade to its armament with the installation of the 75mm KwK 40 L/43 gun, which greatly increased its effectiveness against armored targets. Later production runs, designated “Late,” were equipped with an even longer KwK 40 L/48 cannon and reinforced armor, which gradually became a necessity when facing Soviet T-34 and KV tanks. This version was deployed on both the Eastern and Western Fronts and represented an important step in the development of the Third Reich’s tank technology.
