The Jagdpanzer IV was a German tank destroyer developed on the chassis of the Panzer IV tank to bolster the Wehrmacht’s anti-tank capabilities. Early versions were armed with a 75 mm Pak 39 L/48 cannon, but with the arrival of more heavily armored Allied vehicles, particularly the Soviet T-34/85 and heavy IS tanks, it was decided to install the longer 75 mm Pak 42 L/70 gun, adopted from the Panther tank destroyer.
The L/70(A) version was a transitional solution produced from mid-1944 onward, when standard Panzer IV chassis with a taller profile were used to speed up production. The “Mid” version already included several design modifications, such as reinforced armor, additional wheel guards, and improved armament details. The Jagdpanzer IV L/70(A) Mid saw action on both the Eastern and Western Fronts, where it provided powerful fire support and posed a dangerous threat to Allied tanks.
This 1/35 scale model from Border Model offers a precise representation of this version, with a detailed finish, realistic proportions, and authentic armament. The kit allows you to build a model that faithfully captures both the design and combat deployment of this iconic German World War II tank destroyer.
The package does not include the paints or adhesives needed for assembly.
