Mr. Hobby C605 IJN Type22 Camouflage Color (10 ml) is a high quality synthetic solvent based paint (lacquer) from the premium Mr. Color series, designed for the Japanese Naval Aviation.
This shade is an authentic dark grey-green color used for camouflage on the upper surfaces of Japanese Imperial Navy aircraft. Air Force (IJN), which was deployed on types such as the Mitsubishi A6M Zero (Models 22 and above) in the later stages of the war (after 1943). The paint has a matte (Flat) finish, excellent opacity and is essential for the historically accurate coloring of later naval fighters and bombers.

✈️ Historical Context of the Color
Beginning around 1943, when newer versions of the legendary Zero (e.g. , Models 22 and 52) appeared, there was a gradual transition to darker, greener camouflage. This Type 22 Camouflage Color shade represents this dark, often more pronounced green/green-gray color that was applied to the upper surfaces of naval aircraft.

Color Characteristics: The C605 shade is darker and contains more green pigment than the earlier gray-green Type 21 (C604) shade. This color better simulated camouflage over tropical islands and jungles, where much of the fighting took place in the later stages of the war.

Usage: It was commonly used on the upper surfaces of aircraft, while the lower surfaces remained light gray or were later painted with a dark camouflage color as well.
