The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21F-13 was the first fully operational version of the legendary MiG-21 series, which became a symbol of the Soviet aviation industry and one of the most widely used combat aircraft in the world. Development began in the mid-1950s with the goal of creating a light, fast and agile interceptor capable of flying at speeds over Mach 2. The F-13 version entered service in 1960 and was armed with a pair of NR-30 guns and K-13 (AA-2 Atoll) missiles based on the American Sidewinder.

The MiG-21F-13 served not only in the Soviet Union, but also in the air forces of its allies - including Czechoslovakia, Poland, East Germany and Egypt. During the 1960s, the type took part in many conflicts, especially in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Despite its simple design, the MiG-21F-13 was a reliable and powerful machine that laid the foundation for the entire family of later MiG-21 versions.

The Eduard 1/48 scale kit features an accurately rendered fuselage, cockpit with fine detail, armament and the characteristic aerodynamic features of this early version. With high quality mouldings, realistic surfaces and a choice of multiple markings, it is the ideal choice for modellers looking to capture the early days of the MiG-21 legend.

The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
