1/35 Dingo Mk. III Scout Car w/Crew

The Daimler Dingo, officially the Scout Car, Daimler Mk I-III, was one of the most successful light armoured reconnaissance vehicles used by British and Allied forces during World War II. It was developed in the pre-war period in response to the British Army's requirement for a fast, reliable and well-protected vehicle for reconnaissance and liaison duties. The Dingo was characterised by its compact size, excellent off-road capability due to its all-wheel drive and forward and reverse drive with two control stations, which allowed rapid retreat without turning. The Mk.III version was an upgraded variant with modified armour and detailing that proved its worth in the North African deserts, Europe and the Far East.

In practice, the Dingo served mainly reconnaissance regiments, where its speed and low silhouette allowed stealthy movement in the enemy rear. The vehicle was usually fitted with a Bren light machine gun, which provided basic fire support, but the main task was not to fight but to observe and report. The Dingo was also used as a liaison vehicle between units and headquarters where speed and reliability were key. Its robust design and ease of servicing meant that it remained in active service after the war with a number of Commonwealth armies.

Two crew figures are included to create a dynamic scene of a reconnaissance operation - for example, the crew observing the terrain from open hatches or during a brief stop in the field. Photo-etched parts add finer details that enhance the realism of the model. The decals for the 4 marking variations cover different units and periods of deployment, giving modelers the ability to choose a specific historical context.

Weathering features the typical signs of field service - dust and mud on the chassis and sides, wear on the edges of the armour, faded paint from the sun (especially on the North African versions) and traces of operating fluids. The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
