Italeri 2830 - Junker Ju-87 G-1 (1:48)

Italeri 2830 is a 1:48 plastic kit of the Junkers Ju 87 G-1, a specialised development of the famous Stuka adapted for attacks on armoured targets.

From dive bomber to tank hunter

With its distinctive gull wing, the Ju 87 became one of the best-known aircraft of the Second World War and an emblem of the early Blitzkrieg campaigns. The G version appeared later in the war for operations on the Eastern Front, where it was intended to tackle the growing number of armoured vehicles encountered after 1943.

The G-1 configuration

The defining feature of this variant was its pair of 37 mm Flak 18 guns carried in underwing pods. Hans Ulrich Rudel is directly associated with this armament concept, and it was this arrangement that gave the aircraft its nickname, “Kanonenvogel”.

Inside the box

The plastic kit includes decals for 4 versions, colour instructions and photo-etched parts. The completed model is 22.9 cm long. No figure is included.
