Heinkel He 177A Engine set 1/48 / for SH kits
The CMK Heinkel He 177A Engine Set 1/48 is a detailed resin accessory depicting the engine assemblies of the He 177A heavy bomber. The set allows installation in either the left or right wing using the appropriate engine bulkhead. Designed for the He 177 kit from Special Hobby.
The Heinkel He 177 ‘Greif’ was the only heavy strategic bomber of the Luftwaffe to enter series production and see combat. Its powerplant was one of the most distinctive — and at the same time most problematic — features of the entire aircraft. Each of the two nacelles housed a pair of Daimler-Benz DB 610 engines (consisting of two DB 605 units combined into a single unit), driving a shared four-bladed propeller. This unusual arrangement, known as ‘tandem pairing’, was intended to reduce aerodynamic drag; in practice, however, it caused serious problems with engine overheating and fires — issues that plagued the He 177 throughout its operational career.
This 1:48 scale resin kit from CMK features a highly detailed engine assembly for the He 177A variant. The set contains components for installation in either the left or right wing — the choice is made possible by the included engine bulkheads corresponding to the relevant side. The resin castings capture details not offered by the plastic parts of the Special Hobby kit and are therefore particularly suitable for models with open engine nacelles. This add-on is designed specifically for the Special Hobby He 177 kit and requires no modifications for a proper fit.
