Fw190A Seat and Side Section Back Armour (w/ harness) 1/48 / for Tamiya kits
CMK 3D Print Fw 190A Seat and Side Section Back Armour (w/ harness) is a 3D printed detail set for upgrading the cockpit of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190A in 1:48 scale. The kit includes the pilot seat, side sections, rear armour support and harness, replacing the corresponding parts from the Tamiya kit. The package does not include paint or glue.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190A was one of the Luftwaffe's most feared fighter aircraft from 1941 onwards, and its cockpit underwent a number of modifications during production aimed at protecting the pilot. A key feature was the rear armour system - a steel plate (Rückenpanzerung) placed behind the pilot's back to protect against missiles coming from the rear hemisphere. In the early A-1 to A-4 variants, this was a simpler curved mild steel plate approximately 5 mm thick; in the later A-5 to A-8 versions, the protection was extended to the entire back and side sections, and the thickness of the material increased to 6-8 mm. The pilot's harness was an integral part of the equipment - a four- or five-point safety belt with a quick-release buckle, the design of which also evolved during the war. The combination of seat, armour and harness formed a compact protective system that saved the lives of Fw 190 pilots in many cases.
The CMK kit is manufactured using 3D printing technology, which allows the fine details - the weld structure on the armour plate, the buckles and grommets of the harness and the seat moulding - to be captured at a level not achieved by standard Tamiya plastic kit parts. The kit is directly designed for Tamiya's 1:48 scale kit and includes the pilot's seat, cockpit side sections, rear armour support and harness. The parts are designed to be direct replacements for the original plastic parts. Package does not include paint or adhesives.
