The Fokker E.II Eindecker was a groundbreaking fighter aircraft of the German Imperial Air Force, entering service in 1915. It was a single-seat, top-plane with tubular steel construction and canvas covering, powered by an Oberursel U rotary engine.I. The most important feature of the machine was the synchronization mechanism, which allowed the machine gun to fire across the plane of the propeller without damaging it.
The deployment of the Eindecker marked the beginning of the period known as the "Fokker Plague", when German pilots gained a significant advantage over the Allied air force. The Fokker E.II took part in the fighting on the Western Front and became a symbol of the rise of fighter aviation during World War I.
Airfix Classic Kit A01086 in 1/72 scale faithfully captures this historically significant machine, based on traditional Airfix moulds. It is ideal for modellers with an interest in the early period of air combat and the First World War.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
