Commissar Graves introduces the Commissar of the Imperial Guard - one of the most feared and controversial officers in the Astra Militarum. Commissars are political officers charged with maintaining iron discipline and morale among the soldiers of the Imperial Guard. Their authority includes the right to execute on the spot any soldier who shows cowardice, hesitation, or doubts about the Imperator. This brutal method ensures that Guard troops fight to their last breath, as the fear of the Commissioner's bolter pistol is often greater than the fear of the enemy.

The Commissar Graves model depicts the typical features of this post - the distinctive uniform with long coat, Commissar's cap, bolterpistol and chainsword, symbols of authority and implacability.
