AK Interactive Tools - Steel Bristle Cleaning Pencil is a precision tool with steel bristles enclosed in a pencil body with a rotating mechanism. The principle is similar to a classic pencil: by turning the tip, the brush extends or retracts, allowing the length of the protruding fibres to be precisely adjusted. Shorter bristles mean a harder and more aggressive abrasion, while longer bristles mean a gentler action. Steel bristles are among the hardest options available and offer the strongest scraping ability, which is useful when working with more durable materials.
In modelling, this tool finds application in creating realistic textures - for example, simulating concrete wear on foam boards, creating scratches and abrasions on plastic or resin parts, preparing surfaces before gluing or painting, or highlighting details in scenes and dioramas.
