1/32 Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate (Frank) part 8 - Captured by US Army Air Force
ASK 1/32 Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate (Frank) part 8 – Captured by US Army Air Force is a decal set for three captured aircraft in US markings: two Ki-84 Kō of the TAIU and one Tachikawa Ki-106.
This 1/32 Art Scale sheet provides two Ki-84 Kō of the Technical Air Intelligence Unit (TAIU) at Clark Field in the Philippines, coded S17 and S10 with TECH AIR INTEL UNIT-S.W.P.A. on the rudder, and a dark Tachikawa Ki-106 from the Tachikawa factory airfield at Okayama, Japan (1945).
The Americans tested captured aircraft to learn their performance and weaknesses. The Ki-106 was a mainly wooden counterpart of the Ki-84 and was built only as a few prototypes. The 1/32 Ki-84 plastic kit is sold separately.
If necessary, the decal carrier varnish can be removed by washing it off with Zippo lighter fluid.
