The Vickers Viking was one of the first successful British transport aircraft developed after World War II to revive and expand civil air transport. The Viking 1B type was based on the manufacturer's military experience, but was designed exclusively for short and medium-haul passenger transport. The aircraft featured all-metal construction, reliable piston engines and a relatively comfortable cabin for its time. It entered service in the second half of the 1940s and was operated by a number of European airlines, where it helped to re-establish scheduled services after the wartime disruption.

Valom's 1/72nd scale kit offers a detailed rendering of the civilian variant of the Vickers Viking 1B, with emphasis on the distinctive shape of the fuselage, wings and engine nacelles. The model is intended for more experienced modellers who will appreciate the unconventional civil aviation model and the opportunity to create a realistic replica of a transport aircraft from the early post-war period. Thanks to its civilian design, the kit is suitable not only for aviation collections, but also for dioramas depicting airport operations of the late 1940s and early 1950s.

The package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
