The MiG-19 was the first Soviet supersonic fighter aircraft to enter service in the mid-1950s in response to the growing threat of Western jet aircraft. The MiG-19S variant was an upgraded version, equipped with improved aerodynamics, more powerful armament of three NR-30 guns and more powerful Tumansky RD-9B jet engines, which allowed for better climbability and maneuverability.

The aircraft was widely deployed in the air forces of Warsaw Pact countries, including Czechoslovakia, Poland, East Germany and Bulgaria, where it served as a key element of air defence until the advent of the more modern MiG-21.

The Kovozávody Prostějov 1/72 MiG-19S "Over Eastern Europe" kit features precision-machined plastic parts, detailed cockpit, landing gear and authentic decals for aircraft in the service of Eastern European states.

Historical accuracy and the ability to build different versions make this model ideal for modelers interested in Eastern Bloc fighter aviation during the Cold War.

The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
