1/72 Consolidated PBY-3 Catalina
Brand: Hobby 2000

The Consolidated PBY Catalina was one of the most important naval aircraft of World War II. Developed from the mid-1930s as an ocean reconnaissance and patrol machine, the Catalina quickly gained a reputation as a reliable and versatile aircraft. The PBY-3 version was an early design produced before the United States entered the war, equipped with Pratt & Whitney R-1830-66 engines and serving with the US Navy in both the Pacific and Atlantic theaters. The Catalina was particularly noted for its long range, ability to operate from the water, and participation in key operations, including earlywarning of the Japanese attack at Midway and numerous naval rescue missions during which she saved hundreds of airmen.

The 1/72nd scale Hobby 2000 kit is based on Hasegawa's high quality moulds and features fine surface detail, a realistic cockpit and articulated flying boat hull. Included are high quality Cartograf decals with a choice of attractive markings and masks to facilitate accurate painting of the clear parts and cockpit overlay. The model is an ideal choice for those interested in naval aviation and iconic flying boats of the second World War II aircraft and, thanks to the quality workmanship, offers a great basis for building a faithful replica.

The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
