1/72 Consolidated PBY-3 Catalina
Hobby 2000 1/72 Consolidated PBY-3 Catalina is a 1/72 scale plastic kit of the famous American WWII flying boat. The kit uses high quality Hasegawa molds and features precise Cartograf decals and masks for easier painting of clear parts. The PBY-3 version captures the early production run of this iconic machine, which was used for maritime reconnaissance, search and rescue missions as well as anti-submarine and anti-submarine operations.
The Consolidated PBY Catalina was one of the most important naval aircraft of World War II. Developed from the mid-1930s as an ocean reconnaissance and patrol machine, the Catalina quickly gained a reputation as a reliable and versatile aircraft. The PBY-3 version was an early design produced before the United States entered the war, equipped with Pratt & Whitney R-1830-66 engines and serving with the US Navy in both the Pacific and Atlantic theaters.
