1/72 Bf 109G-6 "Balkan Eagles" - AZ7864 AZ Model
Brand: AZ Model

AZmodel 's 1/72 scale model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 "Balkan Eagles" offers a precise rendition of one of the most famous fighters of WWII. The G-6 version was equipped with the Daimler-Benz DB 605A engine and featured a distinctive "hump" on the fuselage due to the installation of two 13mm MG 131 machine guns above the engine.

This particular edition focuses on machines operating in the Balkans, including aircraft flown by Croatian pilots serving with the Luftwaffe and post-war Yugoslav air forces. The model offers the possibility to build three different markings:

  1. 15th (Kroat)/JG 52, pilot Oberleutnant Mato Dukovac, Crimea, April 1944: this machine belonged to a Croatian unit serving under the German Luftwaffe on the Eastern Front.

  2. Yugoslav Air Force, 172. LAP, Cerklje, Slovenia, June 1951: After the war, some Bf 109G-6s were included in the armament of the newly formed Yugoslav Air Force.

  3. Yugoslav Air Force, 83. LAP, Pula, Slovenia, May 1951: Further post-war use of these machines in the Yugoslav Air Force.

The package includes light grey plastic frames with detailed parts, clear parts for the cockpit and a decal sheet with authentic markings for the above versions. Modelers will appreciate the fine engraving of the panel lines and detailed cockpit.

This model is ideal for those interested in WWII and post-war aviation in the Balkans. Package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
