1/72 Bf 109D "Dora" Hartmann
AZmodel 1/72 Messerschmitt Bf 109D "Dora" Hartmann presents a 1/72 scale model of an early variant of the famous German fighter aircraft. The D version, nicknamed "Dora", was deployed before World War II and in its earlyand paved the way for the later, most combat successful modifications of the Bf 109. The kit offers detailed workmanship, masks and three decal variants, including the machines of the famous ace Erich Hartmann.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was developed in the mid-1930s in Willy Messerschmitt's design office at Bayerische Flugzeugwerke and quickly became one of the most advanced fighter aircraft of its time. With its all-metal construction, retractable landing gear and powerful engines, it represented a significant step forward from the biplanes that still dominated the world's air forces at the time. The Bf 109 became the Luftwaffe's basic fighter type, remaining in service throughout the Second World War, and in total around 34,000 of all versions were built.
The Bf 109D "Dora" version represented a developmental step between the initial B and C variants and was equipped with the Junkers Jumo 210D engine. Machines of this series were inducted into the Luftwaffe's arsenal in the late 1930s and served as Germany headed towards open conflict. They also took part in the first battles of World War II before being gradually replaced by the more powerful E "Emil" versions.
AZmodel's 1/72 scale kit offers a realistic rendition of the Bf 109D with a 161 mm wingspan and 138 mm length. Included are masks, three decal variants and detailed workmanship that allows you to build a model of an early variant of the famous fighter aircraft.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
