The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I and Mk.II are among the most famous fighter aircraft of World War II and played a key role in the Battle of Britain in 1940. These first production variants of the famous Spitfire were armed with eight 7.7 mm Browning machine guns and powered by Rolls-Royce Merlin engines. The Mk.I and Mk.II Spitfires were characterised by their superior manoeuvrability and represent the early development of the famous line of British fighter aircraft.
IBG's limited edition Black Box Edition in 1/72nd scale contains two complete models of both versions, complete with many detailed accessories. Included are 3D printed parts (including cockpits with seats and belts, exhausts, mirrors and intakes), colour etched parts, masks for both kits and ten unique camouflage schemes backed by historical research. The selection of camouflage includes famous RAF aircraft from the early stages of the war.
