1/48 Westland Lynx AH-7

The Westland Lynx AH-7 was one of the most powerful and fastest helicopters of its time, developed by the British company Westland as an advanced version of the original Lynx for the needs of the Army Air Corps. With its lightweight design, powerful engines and upgraded rotor with distinctive "sword-like" tipsThe Lynx achieved excellent manoeuvrability and speed, making it an ideal machine for reconnaissance, transport and support missions. The AH-7 variant, equipped with new rotor blades, modified stabilisers and reduced aerodynamic drag, saw significant use in operations in Northern Ireland and in UN and NATO missions in the Balkans during the 1990s.

The 1/48th scale Airfix 9101A kit provides an accurate representation of this upgraded version, including a detailed cockpit, realistic rotor head, fuselage features and distinctive stabilisers. The model features three authentic markings: a Lynx AH-7 No. 655 Squadron in Northern Ireland (1993), a UN machine deployed at Split Airfield, Croatia (1995), and a NATO SFOR helicopter at Divulje Barracks (1997). The fine paneling, clean mouldings and well thought out construction allow for the construction of a faithful miniature of one of the most distinctive helicopters of the British Armed Forces.

The package does not include the paint or glue required for assembly.
