1/48 Sea Harrier FA 2
Kinetic 1/48 Sea Harrier FA.2 is a model of a British perpendicular take-off and landing fighter aircraft deployed by the Royal Navy in the 1990s. The kit offers detailed workmanship, rich decals and attractive camouflage. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Sea Harrier FA.2 was an upgraded version of the original Sea Harrier FRS.1, which became famous during the Falklands War in 1982. The FA.2 variant was introduced into service in the early 1990s and featured the installation of an advanced Blue Vixen radar, the ability to carry AIM-120 AMRAAM medium-range missiles and enhanced strike capabilities against ground targets. These improvements made the Sea Harrier FA.2 a versatile combat aircraft that greatly enhanced the capabilities of the British Naval Air Service.
The FA.2s served primarily on Invincible-class carriers and were deployed on a number of missions, including operations over the Balkans in the 1990s. The aircraft remained in service until 2006 when they were phased out in favour of more modern types.
