MiniArt 1/48 P-47M Thunderbolt Advanced Kit is a detailed 1/48 scale kit of one of the most powerful American WWII fighter aircraft. The P-47M version was created as a fast-attack variant, developed primarily to fight against German jets and V-1 missiles in the last phase of the war in Europe. The kit features finely finished surfaces, a detailed cockpit, engines, landing gear and armament, complete with a number of of fine detail to create a realistic-looking model of one of America's most respected fighters.
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was one of the largest and most durable single-engine fighter aircraft of World War II. It featured rugged construction, a Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine, and powerful armament consisting of eight .50-caliber Browning machine guns. The P-47M variant was developed in 1945 in response to the need for an extremely powerful fighter capable of countering the threat of German Messerschmitt Me 262 jets and V-1 fast jets. Thanks to a modified R-2800-57C turbocharged engine, the P-47M reached speeds of over 750 km/h (750 mph), making it one of the fastest propeller-driven fighter aircraft of the US Air Force at the end of the war. These machines were deployed primarily by the 56th Fighter Group of the 8th Air Force in Europe and were also famous for their distinctive, often experimental camouflage.
