1/48 McDonnell Douglas F-4E/2020 Terminator (Turkish Air Force) - Phantom
The Meng 1/48 McDonnell Douglas F-4E/2020 Terminator is an upgraded version of the Turkish Phantom II, which was built as part of a major upgrade of Israeli provenance. This variant combines the proven F-4E platform with modern avionics, sensors and weapons systems that have kept the aircraft combat capable well into the 21st century. The 1/48 scale kit features fine engraving, a detailed cockpit, elaborate landing gear and a selection of typicalarmour of the Turkish Air Force, enabling the creation of a faithful model of the fighter-bomber that has become an icon of the Turkish Air Force.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II has been the backbone of the Turkish Air Force for decades, and its importance has been further enhanced by the F-4E/2020 Terminator modernization program. This was carried out in cooperation with the Israeli company IAI and aimed to extend the life of the fleet by installing modern avionics, navigation systems, communications equipment and weapons integration. The aircraft received new digital cockpits, EL/M-2032 multi-purpose radar, advanced deception target scramblers, improved electronic protection and the ability to use long-range guided munitions. The result was a machine that combined the Phantom's rugged frame with technologies appropriate for today's battlefield requirements.
The Meng 1/48 F-4E/2020 Terminator kit captures this late Turkish variant with a high level of detail. It features a meticulously crafted cockpit with upgraded instrument panels, sharp surface engraving and a newand carefully designed tail and wing sections. Also included is a selection of typical Turkish Air Force armament, allowing the machine to be built in a configuration for air operations and strikes against ground targets. Clean transparent parts and quality decals complete the model to result in an accurate and attractive miniature of one of the most interesting late Phantoms.
The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
