1/48 Marder IIIM Fighting Compartment Detail Set for Tamiya kits

The Marder III represented one of the most important improvisations of German armament production during World War II. It was created in response to the lack of modern tank fighters capable of facing Soviet armoured units on the Eastern Front. The design used the chassis of the obsolete Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) of Czechoslovak manufacture, on which was mounted an open or partially open superstructure with a powerful anti-tank gun. The Marder IIIM version carried a 75mm Pak 40 gun and was produced from 1942. Thanks to a combination of mobility, chassis availability and an effective barrel, the Marder III quickly became the standard tank fighter for German troops and served on all fronts until the end of the war. For the crew, however, the open design posed a significant risk under artillery fire and infantry attacks.

This 3D printed add-on set is designed for Tamiya's Marder IIIM scale 1:48 and provides exterior detail enhancements that the basic plastic kit does not offer or shows in a simplified manner. The kit includes an open driver's compartment hatch, allowing the interior of the front fuselage to be shown and adding visual interest to the model. Also included is a half-figure of the driver, which brings the scene to life and gives the model a human dimension. Thanks to 3D printing, finer details and more accurate shapes can be achieved than with standard injection moulded parts. The set is suitable for modellers who want to take their Marder IIIM model beyond the basic kit and create a more detailed, realistic replica. The figure and accessory parts can be painted with common modeler colors and incorporated into the overall appearance of the vehicle, including wear, dust and service marks consistent with combat deployment.

The package does not include the basic Marder IIIM kit, paint or glue needed for assembly.
