1/48 M5 and M8 Hedgerow Cutter (type 1) for Tamiya kits
The M5 and M8 Hedgerow Cutter (Type 1) 1/48 for Tamiya kits is a 3D-printed resin accessory set in 1/48 scale from CMK. In the days following the invasion in June 1944, it became apparent that the Normandy countryside was difficult for tanks to traverse due to the dense hedgerows separating individual fields, known as “Bocage.”
The M5 and M8 Hedgerow Cutter (Type 1) 1/48 for Tamiya kits is a 3D-printed resin accessory set in 1/48 scale from CMK.
In the days following the invasion in June 1944, it became apparent that the Normandy countryside was difficult for tanks to traverse due to the dense hedgerows separating individual fields, known as “Bocage.” In field workshops, American and some British tanks were therefore equipped with brush cutters, which allowed them to pass through the hedgerows. These cutters were manufactured and welded from the most readily available material: German anti-tank obstacles and Czech “hedgehogs” in several different variants. We have prepared a 3D-printed brush cutter for the Tamiya M5 Stuart and M8 Howitzer kits, which do not include brush cutters in their parts.
This is an add-on set; the plastic kit, paint, and glue are not included unless specifically stated by the manufacturer.
Recommended Use
- Degrease, clean, and dry-fit the part before assembly
- Use a resin-compatible adhesive for gluing
- We recommend applying a primer before painting
- Model paints, brushes, or an airbrush are suitable for finishing
