1/35 USMC JLTV M1278A1 Heavy Guns Carrier (HGC)
Rye Field Model 1/35 USMC JLTV M1278A1 Heavy Guns Carrier (HGC) is a diecast plastic model of modern United States Marine Corps tactical vehicle. The M1278A1 HGC JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle) is a heavy armament variant and is the successor to the legendary Humvee as a light armored vehicle for expeditionary operations. The 1:35 scale allows for detailed armour, armament and interior fittings. The package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
The JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle) represents a new generation of light tactical vehicles for the U.S. Armed Forces, replacing the outdated HMMWV (Humvee) in the most demanding roles. The JLTV program was initiated in response to the experience in Iraq and Afghanistan, where the original Humvee provided inadequate protection against improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and advanced anti-tank weapons. The JLTV combines a higher level of ballistic and mine protection with mobility and carrying capacity, while remaining compact enough for airlift and deployment in expeditionary operations. The vehicle entered service in the middle of the second decade of the 21st century and quickly became the standard for infantry and special operations forces.
The M1278A1 Heavy Guns Carrier (HGC) variant is designed to carry heavy armament - typically .50 caliber (12.7 mm) heavy machine guns, Mk 19 automatic grenade launchers, or anti-tank missile systems. This configuration provides infantry units with direct fire support and anti-tank capability directly at the platoon or company level. In the United States Marine Corps, the JLTV is a key element of expeditionary units that must operate quickly, with limited logistics, and in diverse terrain - from desert to mountains to urban environments. Of interest to modelers, the JLTV represents current technology with a distinctive modern design, modularand rich weathering capabilities appropriate for intensive operation in harsh environments.
Rye Field Model in 1:35 offers the detailed workmanship typical of contemporary military models - armoured armour plates, weapon hinges, antenna systems, optics and other elements of a modern combat vehicle. The 1:35 scale is the standard for military equipment and allows you to add crew figures, additional armament or incorporate the model into a diorama with other USMC vehicles or infantry. The appearance of the model can be completed with operational wear and tear - dust, mud, abrasions on the edges of the armor, wear and tear tires, and realistic soiling appropriate for deployment in desert, mountain, or tropical environments. Package does not include paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
