1/35 U.S. 101ST AIRBORNE DIVISION NORMANDY 1944. SPECIAL EDITION

The 101st Airborne Division was one of the elite units of the U.S. Army that dropped into the rear of the German positions in Normandy on the night of June 5-6, 1944. Their mission was to secure vital communications, bridges, and crossroads, disrupt German defenses, and support the success of the invasion of Utah and Omaha beaches. The paratroopers often found themselves scattered after the drop, yet they were able to improvise, assemble into battle groups, and accomplish key tasks that greatly influenced the course of D-Day. Their deployment became a symbol of courage, determination, and the ability to fight in the most difficult conditions.

This 1/35th scale MiniArt Special Edition depicts a group of American paratroopers in authentic positions inspired by Normandy bocage fighting. The kit includes five figures with meticulously sculpted details that include M1943 gear, parachute harnesses, typical helmets with paratrooper nets, as well as personal weaponry such as M1 carbines, Thompson submachine guns and Mk 2 grenades. Also included in the set are two German figures that allow you to create a dynamic scene of contact or clash in the field.

The fine folds of cloth, realistic proportions, sharp details of the equipment, and faithfully rendered differences between American and German uniforms make the set an excellent basis for dioramas from the summer of 1944. The figures can be used alone or as part of a larger scene with vehicles or infantry. The kit is suitable for both historical modellers and creators of scenes inspired by the Allied invasion of Normandy.
