The Tu-143 Reys was a Soviet short-range unmanned reconnaissance vehicle developed in the 1970s for tactical reconnaissance behind enemy lines. The Television Reconnaissance variant was equipped with a camera system capable of transmitting real-time images to ground stations, allowing for instant analysis of the situation on the battlefield.
The aircraft was launched by means of a launch pad and an auxiliary rocket engine, and after completing the mission, it descended to the ground on a parachute. The Tu-143 was widely deployed in the Warsaw Pact armies and exported to other countries. It served in exercises, operational deployments and conflicts, including deployments to the Middle East and Afghanistan.
The Clear Prop 1/35 Tu-143 Reys Television Reconnaissance model features highly detailed plastic parts, including the aircraft's equipment, launch system and parachute. The large scale makes this model ideal for building a stand-alone exhibit or diorama featuring military equipment.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
